Creating The Future of You has been the culmination of a long and winding journey through life, a collection of experiences and careers, and the claiming of a unique gift.
Karen List began her coaching training a long time ago, although she didn’t realise it at the time. Her career has seen her work in the fields of journalism, communications, film and television production and tertiary education. After this varied career path, decades of personal development work, and single motherhood to two emerging young women, Karen was given the opportunity to coach and mentor the online students of Speakers Institute.
SI’s coursework assists people to become more confident and powerful deliverers of their message which, combined with Karen’s journalistic background, lead her to becoming masterful at uncovering individuals’ unique stories and helping people share their voices with the world. In fact, it brought her to a powerful transition point in her life, and created the spark for a new career direction.
After an initial 18 months coaching and mentoring with Speakers Institute, and realising she was bringing great value to her clients, …a light bulb moment occurred. A realisation that becoming a coach was a powerful way she could bring all her skills together, and she was inspired to continue her coaching journey.
Karen sought out a higher-level coaching certification through the Woman-Centred Institute for Coaching, Facilitation and Leadership, under the brilliant guidance of Dr Claire Zammit, who is at the forefront of the movement to empower women today.
Throughout Karen’s own life journey of transitions and discoveries she has developed her own unique multi-modality toolkit which she brings to her coaching work, including sound healing and conscious connected breathwork (Rebirthing), where she earned accreditations on all accounts. Along with her partner, she runs regular sound healing experiences in her community.
A long-time student of shamanism and earth-based medicine, Karen is passionate about the natural world and the opportunity to connect women back to themselves through re-connection to nature.
Today, Karen has found the place she feels she is meant to be. And, she discovered something crucial along the way – that our challenging phases of transition…those moments when we are asking ourselves “what now?” or “what next?” – hold something incredibly powerful.
These moments, that often go completely overlooked, have the power to change our entire future trajectory.
Karen has now dedicated her career to supporting women in these transitional life phases so that they can leverage these moments and move forward in the direction of their dreams and greatest potential.
The Future of You was founded upon the belief that when brilliant women stand for other brilliant women anything is possible, and that when we stand in our power and potential, and claim our unique gifts and talents, we can create a better world.
